OPERATING COSTS
The following table summarizes operational cost for
LongEZ N961EZ over the last 8 years. I've reviewed my log books, receipts and a
little bit of educated guess to come up with these numbers.
This chart does not include the initial cost of the plane, nor are upgrade
components included, i.e. adding autopilot, electronic ignition, or a second
comm radio. Probably the only item that could fall into either category (new vs
operation) is the propeller.
The Airplane was New with the Great American propeller. A Prince prop was added
after several hindered hours as an upgrade. Unfortunately, the prop was
destroyed by an exhaust valve that went thru it. (this event also initiated the
major overhaul of the engine)
An IVO prop was purchased after this, but was removed, and purchase price
refunded following blade clamping issues that could not be resolved.
The MT prop was purchased at this time.
The Great American has always served as my backup prop, and was sent off to get
it overhauled.
